South Dakota's housing infrastructure fund can now make loans to airports in cities with populations of at least 125,000 to improve or maintain airport facilities, with each loan capped at $15 million and charged at 2% annual interest. The bill was rewritten to authorize loans directly from the housing infrastructure fund for airport infrastructure, replacing the original transfer mechanism to the economic development fund and consolidating loan authority under a single entity.
The interest rate on airport infrastructure loans was changed from zero percent to two percent per year.
The amendment changed the bill status from Senate Engrossed to Enrolled, removing the hoghouse notice and substantive bill content, leaving only formal enactment language and signature pages.
