70:01:02:38 – Hyde County speed zone. The 30 miles per hour (mph) limited speed zone on State Trunk Highway 47 in Highmore is being extended north an additional 0.1 mile to match the current signing locations. Then a 35 mph speed zone will extend north for 0.3 mile, rather than the 40 mph speed zone currently in place. A 45 mph speed zone will then extend north for 0.2 mile in place of the current 65 mph zone. The proposed speed zones will enhance safety and are based on an analysis of a speed zone study and consideration of development and turning movements.
