The South Dakota Transportation Commission is proposing to make the escort vehicle requirements for extra-width vehicles less restrictive on certain state trunk highways in and around the Black Hills. The purpose of the proposed rule change is to eliminate or lessen requirements that are no longer necessary due to recent highway improvements. The South Dakota Transportation Commission is also proposing to change the approved routes for longer combination vehicles on the state trunk highway system. The purpose of the rule change is to eliminate an outdated reference to a highway segment that has been removed from the state trunk highway system.
