The effect of the rules ARSD 44:69 and 44:73 will be to update and clarify the minimum regulations for nursing homes and birth centers. The effect of updates contained in ARSD 44:70 and 44:75 is the correction of reference citations for assisted living, hospital, specialized hospital, critical access hospital, and rural emergency hospital providers. The reason for adopting the proposed rules is to maintain the health and safety of residents and patients receiving services in nursing homes, birth centers, assisted living centers, hospitals, specialized hospital, critical access hospital, and rural emergency hospitals.
