12:56:05:04.04Additional standards for certification in ornamental and turf pest control.

In addition to meeting the general standards set forth in § 12:56:05:04, applicators seeking certification in ornamental and turf pest control must demonstrate a practical knowledge of pesticide problems associated with the production and maintenance of ornamental plants and turf. The required knowledge includes the potential for: (1) Phytotoxicity due to a wide variety of plants to be protected; (2) Drift; (3) Persistence beyond the intended period of pest control; and (4) Non-target exposures. Applicators must also demonstrate practical knowledge of application methods that will minimize or prevent injury to humans, and pets and other domestic animals.
