No person may purchase, sell, or trade hatching eggs or poultry under five months old unless the hatching eggs or poultry originate from flocks or hatcheries classified as S.D. pullorum typhoid clean or from flocks or hatcheries of a comparable pullorum typhoid disease status as determined by the board. The completed VS form 9-3, as described in 9 C.F.R. Part 145 (January 1, 2025) and supplied by the board or an equivalent form furnished by the board, must accompany each shipment of poultry to verify the S.D. pullorum typhoid clean status. The producer or shipper must send copies of the completed VS form 9-3 to the board within ten days of the shipment transaction.
