12:68:13:23Minimum sanitation requirements for hatcheries.

Hatcheries must be kept in a sanitary condition in general and must comply specifically with the following requirements: (1) Incubator walls, floors, and trays must be kept free from broken eggs and eggshells; (2) Tops of incubators and hatchers must be kept clean and may not be used for storage; (3) The entire hatchery, including the sales room, must be kept in a neat, orderly condition and free from accumulated dust; (4) Hatchery residue, such as eggshells, infertile eggs, dead embryos, and any material which may harbor diseases, must be disposed of promptly and in a sanitary manner; (5) Hatchers and hatching trays must be cleaned and fumigated or disinfected after each hatch; (6) All eggs set must be fumigated; and (7) Started poultry must be kept separated from the incubator room.
