A vehicle scale must have a 15-foot-long reinforced concrete approach at each end in the same plane as the platform, except a livestock scale, which requires only one approach at the most accessible end of the scale. Approaches may be sloped up to 1/4 inch maximum per foot so that water will drain away from the scale.
