In lieu of the pier structure required by § 20:01:08:02, a floating slab of concrete, a minimum of 12 inches thick and reinforced with two rows of five-eighths inch rebar on one-foot centers, may be installed. The owner is responsible for design modification to suit existing soil conditions.
