A chiropractor may not reveal information relating to treatment or care of a patient unless: (1) The chiropractor is provided with a medical release signed by the patient authorizing the release of either patient information or patient records, or both; (2) The release of either patient information or patient records, or both, is requested in accordance with SDCL 36-5-19, 36-5-15.2, or 36-5-16 and 36-5-16.1; or (3) The release of either patient information or patient records, or both, is required by law.
