The board shall register an individual seeking initial registration as a medication aide if the individual: (1) Applies on the form provided by the board; (2) Holds a high school diploma or equivalent; (3) Successfully completes a board-approved training program in accordance with § 20:48:04.01:13; (4) Provides evidence of having passed a board-approved examination for medication administration with a minimum score of seventy-five percent; and (5) Is not otherwise disqualified under § 20:48:16:04. An applicant who completed training that was not approved by the board shall make a request for an equivalency determination on a form provided by the board. If the applicant does not meet the registration requirements for this section, the board must deny the application. An individual registered as a medication aide in this state may use the title "registered medication aide" and the abbreviation "RMA".
