If a prescription software platform is used to store prescription information, the platform must: (1) Maintain the confidentiality and integrity of the information contained in the platform; (2) Be capable of producing a hard-copy daily summary of controlled substance transactions; (3) Provide on-line retrieval of original prescription order information for those prescription orders that are currently authorized for refilling; (4) Be capable of recording and storing all dates of any prescription refill and the initials of the pharmacist, as required by §§ 20:51:05:18 to 20:51:05:20, inclusive; (5) Be capable of producing a patient profile indicating all drugs being dispensed and the date of all prescription refills; and (6) Be capable of being reconstructed in the event of a computer malfunction or accident resulting in destruction of the platform.
