20:53:09:05Criteria for granting training course credit.

The commission may grant training credit for courses, seminars, conferences, correspondence courses, or similar offerings that are provided by the commission or any public or private school, organization, association, person, corporation, society, or similar organization if the course meets the following criteria: (1) The total instruction time is not less than eight hours; (2) The public or private school, organization, association, person, corporation, society, or similar organization certifies the attendance of each licensee at the offering or the completion of a training course; (3) Credit is earned on the basis of attendance, or in the case of correspondence courses, completion of the course; and (4) The instructor of the training course meets at least one of the following qualifications: (a) Licensed as a South Dakota journeyman plumber or plumbing contractor; (b) Licensed mechanical engineer; or (c) State certified vocational instructor with mechanical experience.
