When selecting the material and size for water supply pipe, tubing, or fittings, due consideration shall be given to the action of the water on the exterior and interior of the pipe. No material that would produce toxic conditions in a potable water supply system may be used for piping, tubing, or fittings. No piping material that has been used for other than a potable water supply system may be reused in the potable water supply system.
