removal and bypass. No water conditioning and treatment equipment may be removed without restoring the water supply. The piping shall be supported and drainable. A bypass shall be installed around equipment where the water conditioning and treatment contractor has relinquished control, ownership, and responsibility. Where the outlet of the equipment is the point of use, no bypass is required.
