The board may take into consideration hardship or extenuating circumstances in allowing a licensee to correct deficiencies in continuing education, but the deadline may not be extended more than one year. A licensee's request for an extension to correct deficiencies in continuing education must be made to the board, in writing, before the end of the current continuing education cycle.
