An applicant may use any of the following to obtain credit for certification renewal: (1) Transcripted credits; (2) Fifteen continuing education contact hours for one renewal credit; (3) One year of employment with the department for one renewal credit; (4) One semester of instruction provided by the applicant as part of an approved educator preparation program for one-half of one renewal credit; or (5) One passed state-designated content test towards adding an endorsement for one renewal credit. Meals and other breaks may not be counted towards the calculation of continuing education contact hours.
