41:04:05:03Fire extinguishers required -- Exception.

A fire extinguisher that bears an unexpired U.S. Coast Guard stamp of approval and is in serviceable condition is required on a motorboat operated on public waters as follows: (1) Each Class A or Class 1 motorboat must carry at least one fire extinguisher of B-I type or larger; (2) Each Class 2 motorboat must carry at least two fire extinguishers of B-I type or larger; and (3) Each Class 3 motorboat must carry at least one B-II type and one B-I type or three B-I type fire extinguishers. A Class A or Class 1 motorboat not carrying passengers for hire is exempt from the requirements of this section if the construction of the boat will not permit the entrapment of explosive or flammable gases or vapors.
