Food may not contain unapproved food additives or additives that exceed amounts allowed in 20 C.F.R. 170-180, April 1, 1996, relating to food additives, generally recognized as safe or prior sanctioned substances that exceed amounts allowed in 21 C.F.R. 181-186, April 1, 1996, or pesticide residues that exceed provisions specified in 40 C.F.R. 185, July 1, 1996, administered by the EPA.
