In addition to the metabolic disorder tests required in SDCL 34-24-18, a designated laboratory shall screen any infant born in this state for the following newborn screening disorders: (1) Hemoglobinopathies; (2) Biotinidase deficiency; (3) Classical congenital adrenal hyperplasia; (4) Fatty acid oxidation disorders; (5) Amino acid disorders; (6) Organic acid disorders; (7) Cystic fibrosis; (8) Severe combined immunodeficiency disorder; (9) Spinal muscular atrophy; (10) Glycogen storage disease type II or Pompe disease; and (11) X-linked adrenoleukodystrophy (X-ALD). Each physician, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, certified nurse midwife, or certified professional midwife providing childbirth services shall perform a newborn hearing screening on any infant the provider or midwife delivers in this state.
