Upon giving notice of a patient’s death pursuant to SDCL 34-20G-46(2), a designated caregiver shall, within 15 days, return the registry identification card associated with the patient to the department and, if applicable, shall destroy any cannabis plants and any cannabis and cannabis products that were produced from the allowable plants.
