Terms used in this chapter mean: (1) "Controlled substances," any drug or chemical whose possession and use are regulated under the Federal Controlled Substances Act of 1970; (2) "Gastrostomy," the surgical creation of a gastric fistula through the abdominal wall with insertion of a tube; (3) "Jejunostomy," the surgical creation of an opening into the jejunum; (4) "Medication administration training," the provision of a medication administration training curriculum under the supervision of a licensed registered nurse; (5) "Nasogastric tube," a tube which is inserted nonsurgically through the nose and extends into the stomach; (6) "Parenteral route of administration," the administration of medication by injection including interdermal subcutaneous, intramuscular, or intravenous injection; (7) "Supervision," monitoring by a licensed registered nurse.
