Terms used in this chapter, unless the context plainly requires otherwise, mean: (1) "Agency," a child placement agency as provided in SDCL 26-6-14; (2) "Client," any person who uses the services of child placement agencies licensed under this chapter; (3) "Alternate care family," family foster homes and adoptive placement homes used by child placement agencies licensed under this chapter; and (4) "Host family," a nonpaid volunteer family who provides supplemental care or coparenting to a child to minimize the risk for abuse and neglect.
