placement services. The agency shall adopt written policies for the placement of a child free for adoption. The policies must provide for the following: (1) Placement into an adoptive home as soon as possible after the child is legally free for adoption; (2) Placement of an Indian child according to the Indian Child Welfare Act; (3) Placement in the best interests of the child; (4) Placement with relatives or extended family members if it is in the best interests of the child; (5) Placement to meet the child's distinctive needs; (6) Prohibition of placement based solely on the basis of race, color, or national origin of the adoptive or foster parent or the child involved; (7) Continuation of services to assist the child and family, including payment of an adoption subsidy, if indicated in the child's case plan; and (8) Delivery of a copy of the child's current medical records to the child's adoptive parents.
