70:03:01:24Earthmoving equipment movement -- Escort vehicles -- When required -- Signs.

The movement of earthmoving equipment singly or in convoy requires an escort vehicle in advance of the earthmover or convoy with a sign visible to oncoming traffic stating "CONVOY WIDE LOAD" or "WIDE LOAD", as applicable, in letters one foot high. The rear of the unit or convoy must display an identical sign. When moving on the interstate highway system, the escort vehicle must immediately follow the unit or convoy and the sign required on the escort vehicle must be visible to traffic approaching from the rear.
