survey of surface facilities at mine closure. For uranium in situ leach mines, at mine closure the operator shall submit a radiation sampling and survey plan to the department for review and approval. The plan shall include a comparison to the baseline radiation survey required by subdivision 74:29:11:02(2). In accordance with the plan, the operator shall conduct a radiation survey of the surface facilities, to include the process or recovery facility, ponds, impoundments, wellfields, and all areas surveyed during the baseline survey. The operator shall submit a report of the results of this survey. The operator shall, as appropriate: (1) Report the following levels: (a) Gamma radiation in units of microroentgen per hour (µR/hr) or millisieverts per hour (mSv/hr) at 1 meter (m) from surfaces; (b) Radioactivity, including alpha and beta, in units of disintegrations per minute (dpm), microcuries (µCi), or megabecquerels (MBq) per 100 square centimeters (cm2) for surfaces; (c) Microcuries (µCi) or megabecquerels (MBq) per milliliter for water; and (d) Picocuries (pCi) or becquerels (Bq) per gram (g) for solids such as soils or concrete. (2) Specify the manufacturer's name, model, and serial number of survey instruments used and certify that each instrument is properly calibrated and tested.
