Rulemaking activity
The standards of performance for small industrial, commercial, and institutional steam generating units are those in 40 C.F.R. Part 60, Subpart Dc (July 1, 2024). A source that operates a unit subject to Subpart Dc is exempt from the obligation to obtain a Part 70 operating permit, if the source burns solely natural gas or propane and is not required to obtain a Part 70 operating permit for a reason other than the source is subject to Subpart Dc. Exempted sources must still meet the applicable requirements in Subpart Dc.
