spacing requirements. The designated production area monitor wells shall be spaced no more than 400 feet from the production area and with spacing no greater than 400 feet between the monitor wells. Alternative monitor well locations and spacing may be considered if the operator can demonstrate that the proposed location or spacing will adequately provide monitoring coverage to detect excursions in a timely manner. Closer spacing of these wells may be required by the secretary in the down gradient groundwater flow direction from the production zone.
