Any person, other than a law enforcement officer as defined in § 22-1-2 acting4 under color of authority, a servicemember as defined in § 33-1-1, or a member of the National Guard or any reserve component of the armed forces of the United States, who: (1)Carries a pistol or revolver, loaded or unloaded, concealed on or about his or her7 person without a permit as provided in chapter 23-7; or8 (2)Carries a pistol or revolver, loaded or unloaded, concealed in any vehicle while9 operating the vehicle, without a permit as provided in chapter 23-7; is guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor. 100 copies were printed on recycled paper by the South DakotaLegislative Research Council at a cost of $.167 per page.v Insertions into existing statutes are indicated by underscores.Deletions from existing statutes are indicated by overstrikes.
