Section 2-11-1 — AMENDED
Composition of commission--Appointment and terms--Life members--Vacancies. The appointed members of the Commission on Uniform Legislation consist of five suitable persons learned in the law, lawyers appointed by the Executive Board of the Legislative Research Council for terms of three years each. The terms shall begin on the first of August of the year of appointment. The terms shall be staggered so that no more than two terms expire each year. The members A member shall hold office until their successors have the member's successor has been appointed. Any person, not otherwise a member of the commission, elected as a life member of the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws before July 1, 2020, shall also be a life member of the commission. Vacancies A vacancy shall be filled by appointment by the Executive Board for the remainder of the term in which the vacancy occurred. No member appointed after July 1, 2020, may serve more than four terms. This restriction does not apply to any partial term to which a member may be appointed. 18
