Intermediate care facilities for people with intellectual disabilities must create written visitation policies that allow visits to the fullest extent allowed by federal health agencies, and these policies must address infection control, protective equipment, visiting hours, and visitor limits—but cannot require visitors to prove vaccination. The bill also requires facilities to allow "compassionate care visits" for residents who are struggling with the transition to facility living and have lost direct family contact, as long as a doctor confirms the need.
