Section 12-5-4 — AMENDED
A candidate for to be a member of a party precinct committeeman or committeewoman committee shall file a statement in writing, with the county auditor of the county in which he or she is a candidate with the auditor of the county in which the candidate seeks to be a member of a party precinct committee, not later than the last Tuesday in March before the primary election. The statement shall must include the candidate's email address and phone number and must state that the candidate: (1) Is a resident of the precinct; (2) Is registered as a member of the political party named in the statement; (3) Is a candidate for to be a member of a party precinct committeeman or committeewoman, as the case may be committee; (4) Is desirous of serving in that position; and (5) If elected, will qualify and serve in the office. The statement, when properly filed, shall operate operates as a nominating petition for that office. 19
