NEW SECTION added to Chapter 13-13
A salary schedule established by the board of a school district for teachers must reflect: (1) Demand for the teacher's area of certification in the school district, geographic region, or state; (2) The highest degree and additional credit hours held by the teacher; and (3) The teacher's years of experience. In addition to any amount provided for on the salary schedule, a teacher is entitled to receive merit pay in the amount established by the board. 11
