NEW SECTION added to Chapter 1-5
The official standard time of this state is the time established by 15 U.S.C. § 261 (January 1, 2025) in both the central and mountain time zones. In accordance with 15 U.S.C. § 260a(a) (January 1, 2025), this state and all political subdivisions of this state are exempt from the provisions requiring the advancement of standard time by one hour during the period provided in 15 U.S.C. § 260a(a). The exemption applies to both the portion of the state using central standard time as the official standard time and the portion of the state using mountain standard time as the official standard time. Nothing in this section may be construed to affect the standard time established by United States law governing the movements of common carriers engaged in interstate commerce or the time for performance of an act by an officer or department of the United States, as established in statute, or by a lawful order, regulation, or rule of the United States or any agency thereof. 16
