This bill removes probation as an option for people held in contempt of court for violating custody or visitation orders. By repealing two sections of law that previously allowed probation in these cases, South Dakota is eliminating a lighter punishment option and making contempt violations for custody/visitation issues subject to stricter consequences.
This bill does not directly amend codified state law.
