This bill creates a new property tax credit for South Dakota homeowners who pay tuition to send children to nonpublic schools, allowing them to reduce their school district property taxes by up to 80% of what they owe or $1,000 per year, whichever is less. The credit applies to children ages 5-18 enrolled in K-12 nonpublic schools and doesn't require the child to be the property owner's own child.
