This bill makes it illegal to electronically publish a judge's or law enforcement officer's home address, date of birth, or social security number without their permission if you intend to threaten them or their family with death or serious injury. Violating this new law is a Class 6 felony.
The amendment narrowed the prohibited intent from two separate grounds (placing officer in fear of death/injury OR causing fear for safety) to a single ground: placing the officer or their immediate family in reasonable fear of death or great bodily injury.
The bill's codification number changed from 26.983.10 to 26.983.11, and formatting was updated to reflect the enrolled version with signature lines and filing provisions.
