South Dakota universities and technical colleges must now report any funding they receive from foreign entities, governments, or individuals connected to China, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, or Venezuela. The bill defines "funding" broadly to include grants, donations, contracts, and other financial support, but excludes tuition payments from foreign students. This new reporting requirement applies to institutions controlled by the Board of Regents and the Board of Technical Education.
