Overstrikes indicate deleted language. and Weisgram and Senator Mehlhaff A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION honoring Dr. Kelly Glodt upon his retirement as 1 superintendent of the Pierre School District. 2 WHEREAS, Dr. Kelly Glodt has served as superintendent of the Pierre School District since 3 2007, dedicating nearly two decades to the students, families, educators, and taxpayers of 4 Pierre and the surrounding communities; and 5 WHEREAS, Dr. Glodt announced his intention to retire following the September 8, 2025, 6 meeting of the Pierre School Board, with retirement effective June 30, 2026, and did so to 7 provide the Board ample time to conduct a thoughtful superintendent search and ensure a 8 smooth leadership transition; and 9 WHEREAS, throughout his tenure, Dr. Glodt emphasized collaborative leadership and 10 credited the success of Pierre public schools to strong partnerships among the school board, 11 administrators, teachers, parents, and students; and 12 WHEREAS, Dr. Glodt’s strong leadership has been recognized statewide, including being 13 named South Dakota Superintendent of the Year, an honor reflecting sustained excellence in 14 educational leadership and service; and 15 WHEREAS, under Dr. Glodt’s leadership, the Pierre School District has consistently 16 demonstrated conservative fiscal principles and excellent student achievement; and 17 WHEREAS, Dr. Glodt has contributed to education policy and statewide conversations 18 beyond his district responsibilities; 19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the One Hundred First Legislature of the 20 State of South Dakota, that Dr. Kelly Glodt is truly appreciated for his commitment to 21 academic excellence, his responsible stewardship of public resources, and the lasting impact 22 that his legacy of service will have on generations of students and the community of Pierre. 23
