A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION honoring the life of Dale Weber, longtime 1 president of the South Dakota Amateur Baseball Association. 2 WHEREAS, Dale Weber, a 1957 graduate of Delmont High School and 1961 graduate of 3 Yankton College, loved competing in multiple sports and sharing that love with others; and 4 WHEREAS, an amateur baseball player from 1955-1975, Dale became president of the 5 South Dakota Amateur Baseball Association in 1988; and 6 WHEREAS, Dale passionately loved the game of baseball and spent more than forty years 7 working to grow the game in South Dakota and to introduce young people to the game's joys 8 and virtues; and 9 WHEREAS, Dale Weber retired as president of the South Dakota Amateur Baseball 10 Association in 2025 after thirty-seven years; and 11 WHEREAS, upon retirement, the South Dakota Amateur Baseball Association bestowed 12 upon Dale the moniker "Mr. Amateur Baseball"; and 13 WHEREAS, Dale Weber passed away on February 27, 2026; 14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the One Hundred First Legislature of the 15 State of South Dakota, that Dale Weber's contributions to the game of baseball in this state 16 and to his community of Salem, South Dakota, will serve as a lasting legacy of his character, 17 his determination, and his quest to ensure that amateur baseball will remain a prominent 18 pursuit for generations yet to come. 19
