School districts must now publish notices of excess tax levies twice in the legal newspaper with at least five days between publications, and the notice must be at least three newspaper columns wide and four inches tall (or one-sixth of a page, whichever is larger). This changes the announcement requirements that school districts must follow before taxpayers can petition to refer an excess tax levy to a public vote.
