This bill strengthens restrictions on synthetic cannabis products by making it illegal to sell, distribute, or give delta-8 THC, THC-O acetate, and hexahydrocannabinol to anyone under 21, and also prohibits minors from possessing or consuming these products without a valid prescription from a doctor. The bill adds delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinolic acid to the list of regulated substances and clarifies that adults cannot purchase these products on behalf of minors. Violations of these rules carry criminal penalties under South Dakota law.
This bill does not directly amend codified state law.
