Overstrikes indicate deleted language. and Novstrup A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION commending and honoring Duane Alm for his 1 more than sixty years of dutiful service to the Aberdeen School District as an 2 educator, administrator, and school board member, and for being the 3 recipient of the Associated School Boards of South Dakota's School Bell Award 4 for 2025. 5 WHEREAS, Duane has displayed an unwavering dedication to ensuring students, both in 6 Aberdeen and statewide, have received the best possible public education they can while also 7 being an exceptional leader in each of his roles in the Aberdeen School District; and 8 WHEREAS, his leadership skills transferred well to his role with the Associated School 9 Boards of South Dakota, where he served more than twenty years on the Board of Directors, 10 including two terms as President, and at the national level where he served one term as 11 President of the National School Board Association's Western Region; and 12 WHEREAS, Duane has been a tireless advocate for public education in the legislative arena 13 and has epitomized the role of a public servant to South Dakota's public education system; 14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the One Hundred First Legislature of the 15 State of South Dakota, that Duane Alm of Aberdeen is commended on his past, present, and 16 future efforts to enhance the educational opportunities for the K-12 students of this state. 17
