The enrolled version adds four additional senators and five representatives as co-sponsors to the commemoration and removes the bill's technical formatting codes and line numbers. This change broadens the legislative support for celebrating the South Dakota Youth of the Year program without altering the substance of the commemoration itself.

Senators Foster, Duhamel, Perry, Rohl, and Voita and Representatives Emery, Moore, Muckey, Pourier, and Wittman A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION celebrating the South Dakota Youth of the Year 1 program for 2026. 2 WHEREAS, Boys & Girls Clubs in South Dakota serve more than eighteen thousand children 3 and teens annually at sixty locations across this state; and 4 WHEREAS, the mission of Boys & Girls Clubs is to enable all young people, especially those 5 with the greatest need, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible 6 citizens; and 7 WHEREAS, Boys & Girls Club programs promote a better self-image, improved education, 8 and greater social, emotional, and cultural awareness, while encouraging community 9 involvement, strong moral values, and enhanced life management skills; and 10 WHEREAS, the Youth of the Year program is the Boys & Girls Clubs' premier recognition 11 platform, designed to promote and recognize service to club and community, academic 12 performance, and contributions to family; and 13 WHEREAS, youth nominees from South Dakota Clubs in Sioux Falls, Wagner, Mission, 14 Flandreau, and Pierre have earned the esteemed title of Youth of the Year; and 15 WHEREAS, on March 4, 2026, one of the youth nominees will be chosen as South Dakota 16 State Youth of the Year and will represent this state in the National Youth of the Year program 17 for Boys & Girls Clubs of America; 18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the One Hundred First Legislature of the 19 State of South Dakota, that this state recognizes Boys & Girls Clubs for their outstanding 20 commitment to children, teens, and families, and commends the Youth of the Year finalists of 21 2026 for their accomplishments and successes. 22
