(Kevin), Duhamel, and Perry and Representatives Aylward, Emery, Lems, Moore, and Shubeck A LEGISLATIVE COMMEMORATION honoring the achievements of Canton C-Hawks 1 wrestling team coach Jeremy Ask. 2 WHEREAS, Canton C-Hawks wrestling team coach Jeremy Ask was a two-time state 3 champion wrestler at St. Ansgar, Iowa, and went on to wrestle for Iowa State University; and 4 WHEREAS, Jeremy Ask coached wrestling in Alcester, South Dakota, and, in 2001, began 5 his career as a head coach in Canton, South Dakota; and 6 WHEREAS, Jeremy Ask began coaching the girls wrestling program in 2021, when it was 7 first sanctioned by the state; and 8 WHEREAS, in 2024, Jeremy Ask assumed the role of assistant coach in order to mentor 9 new coaches; and 10 WHEREAS, in 2026, Jeremy Ask became the only wrestling coach in South Dakota history 11 to have coached both a girls team and a boys team to state championships in the same year; 12 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT COMMEMORATED, by the One Hundred First Legislature of the 13 State of South Dakota, that Coach Jeremy Ask, through his appreciation for and dedication to 14 the sport, has left an indelible mark on high school wrestling in Canton and in the state of 15 South Dakota. 16
