20:80:19:08Continuing education requirements -- Licensed addiction counselor.

A licensed addiction counselor shall complete forty hours of continuing education in each continuing education cycle to renew the license. At least four of the continuing education hours must be on the subject of addiction counseling ethics. Continuing education required for renewal of a license is prorated in six-month increments for a license granted during a continuing education cycle. Continuing education may not be prorated for a license that is upgraded during a continuing education cycle. Upon application for renewal, a licensed addiction counselor shall verify under penalty of perjury that all continuing education information provided on the application is true and correct. The licensed addiction counselor shall supply sufficient detail to permit verification of the continuing education if notified of an audit by the board.
