20:80:19:10Continuing education requirements -- Certified prevention specialist.

A certified prevention specialist shall complete forty hours of continuing education in each continuing education cycle to renew the certification. At least four of the continuing education hours must be on the subject of addiction counseling ethics. Continuing education required for renewal of a certification is prorated in six-month increments for a certification granted during a continuing education cycle. Upon application for renewal, a certified prevention specialist shall verify under penalty of perjury that all continuing education information provided on the application is true and correct. The certified prevention specialist shall supply sufficient detail to permit verification of the continuing education if notified of an audit by the board.
