assessments. A registered dietitian shall ensure a nutritional assessment is completed and documented on each new resident on therapeutic diets upon admission; on any resident having a significant change in diet, eating ability, nutritional status, or weight loss or gain; and on any resident with a disease or condition that puts the resident at significant nutritional risk. An annual assessment shall be completed for each resident. A monthly tube feeding assessment, including an assessment of the nutritional adequacy of calories, protein, and fluids shall be performed on any resident with a tube feeding. This nutritional assessment shall be performed by a registered dietitian or a health care provider under SDCL title 36 with the education preparation required to perform an advanced nutritional assessment.
