and consistently less than the maximum contaminant level. For purposes of this chapter, the term, reliably and consistently less than the maximum contaminant level, means: (1) For VOCs, SOCs, and IOCs except nitrate and nitrite, the average of the initial sample and quarterly samples is less than the MCL; (2) For nitrate, the average of four consecutive quarterly samples is less than 7.5 mg/L and no single sample exceeds 10 mg/L; or (3) For nitrite, the average of four consecutive quarterly samples is less than 0.75 mg/L and no single sample exceeds 1 mg/L.
