That § 25-6-7 be AMENDED: 3 25-6-7. The circuit court for the county of the child's legal residence or of the 4 adopting parent's legal residence according to where petition is first filed shall have the 5 original jurisdictionA A petition for adoption may be filed in the circuit court for any of the 6 following counties: 7 (1) The county in which the adopting parent resides; 8 (2) The county in which the authorized agency having care, custody, or control, 9 whether legal or physical, of the child involved is located; or 10 (3) The county in which the child involved was born or resides. 11 26.904.10 2 1197 HB1197 ENROLLED An Act to revise a provision related to the venue of adoption proceedings.
